Meet your celebrant
Mark Hemsley
Hi, I'm Mark and I became a celebrant after a rewarding career as a teacher and headteacher in primary education. Working with children and families from diverse backgrounds has strengthened my empathy and understanding in a range of situations. I take pride in helping couples and families celebrate those important moments in life and seeing the joy which they bring.

My sense of adventure has taken me to many exciting places from Zambia to Ukraine and Mexico City to Mongolia. It has been wonderful to learn from, and interact with, the people and cultures that I have met along the way; these experiences have shown me how important it is to weave together cultures and traditions into ceremonies to reflect our own diversity and experiences.
​
I hold two NOCN Level 3 diplomas in Celebrancy which covers Couples and Naming ceremonies as well as in Funeral Celebrancy. Completing these qualifications has not only consolidated my understanding of ceremonies but also demonstrates my desire to provide quality and authentic ceremonies for you, my clients.
​
I also enjoy bringing a sense of fun and creativity to a ceremony. Life is about being happy and being able to express ourselves. So whether you like the idea of your ceremony being led by me in a formal suit or dressed to match your theme - I'm your man!

As a Christian, I understand that aspects of any faith may be important to include within a ceremony and how this can help to reinforce people's commitments to each other.

A bespoke ceremony for every special day
Everyone knows what to expect from those key ceremonies but that doesn't mean they all have to be the same.
This is a time for you to put your own stamp on the moment, to weave in your own traditions, cultures and customs, and to include your family and friends in the ceremony.
You are only limited by your imagination!
I can work with you to design a ceremony just for you and I would love to create something that is based around your own styles and themes. From beaches to castles, traditional to costumed, and from understated to flamboyant!
